Meet Leesburg's Trusted Dentist
David S. Groy, D.D.S., F.A.G.D
Dr. David S. Groy was born and raised in the Philadelphia, PA area, and moved to Leesburg with his wife Gail in 1980. He started his practice from the ground up and quickly realized what a wonderful place Loudoun County was going to be to live and work.
He earned his B.A. from Gettysburg College in 1972, and then went on to earn his D.D.S. from the Temple University School of Dentistry in 1979. He graduated in the top 5% of his class, earning an invitation to the National Dental Honor Society (Omicron Kappa Upsilon). He is also a member of the school’s Periodontal and Oral Surgery Honor Societies.
After earning his D.D.S., Dr. Groy completed a one year hospital-based General Practice Residency at the Albert Einstein Medical Center, finishing in 1980 with the Dr. Benjamin Lebby Memorial Award for “Most Outstanding General Practice Resident.” This postdoctoral program was heavily focused on treating medically compromised children and adults.
He has since earned a Fellowship with the Academy of General Dentistry, completed the United States Dental Institute's two year program of study in Orthodontics and Orthopedics and The Virginia Commonwealth School of Dentistry’s four year continuing education MasterTrack Program. He stays up-to-date on the current advances within the field of dentistry by continually attending dental seminars and hands on workshops.
Dr. Groy's professional memberships include: the American Dental Association, the Academy of General Dentistry, the Virginia Dental Association, the Shenandoah Dental Society and Seattle Study Club.
Outside of the office, Dr. Groy has volunteered his time and expertise in various community organizations such as the Medical Group Missions in the Dominican Republic, Mothers of Mercy free dental care events, the Loudoun County Free Dental Clinic and local elementary school cavity screenings and Dental Health Month presentations. His most valued spare time is spent with his family and three grandkids!
